Travel to SkyCrest Lake

SkyCrest Lake is located in Northern California between Arcata and Redding just off of Highway 299.

From Arcata you will travel east on Hwy 299 for about 55 miles.  Look for the Burnt Ranch Post Office on your left.  Continue on to highway mile mark 11.79.  Turn right on Underwood Mountain Road. (If you cross the Trinity River you've gone too far, turn around)  Proceed 1.7 miles to Dose Road and the SkyCrest sign.  Turn left on Dose Road and through the SkyCrest gate.
<Note:  If you plan to use a cell phone, do so before leaving Willow Creek.>

From Redding you will travel west on Hwy 299 for about 82 miles.  Soon after you cross the Trinity River, look for Highway mile mark 11.79.  Turn left on Underwood Mountain Road. (if you pass the Burnt Ranch Post Office, you've gone too far, turn around)  Proceed 1.7 miles to Dose Road and the SkyCrest sign.  Turn left on Dose Road and through the SkyCrest gate.
